Project Background

The Vietnamese customer is a high-end coil service center positioned between international mills and local Tier 1 automotive and appliance manufacturers. These end users demand tight dimensional tolerances, excellent edge quality and stable lead times, especially on high-strength and wide-width coils. The customer’s existing slitting line was adequate for standard grades but could not maintain the desired speed and quality on 2–4 mm high-strength material, limiting their ability to compete for more sophisticated contracts.

In parallel, several foreign-invested automotive projects were ramping up in Vietnam, expecting local processors to match the processing standards of their home markets. To avoid losing these opportunities to overseas service centers, the customer chose to invest in a new high-speed, high-rigidity slitting line with 2000 mm width capability.

Key Configuration & Parameters

We supplied a 0.4–4.0 mm × 2000 mm high-precision slitting line with a maximum speed of 200 m/min. The line includes a high-rigidity slitter stand, optimized loop pits and precise tension control for high-strength coils across the full width range.

Customer Benefits & Feedback

The line now delivers high-speed slitting for both thin and medium gauges over 2000 mm width, supporting automotive and wide appliance sheet orders. Hourly output has increased significantly, and edge/coiling quality on high-strength material has clearly improved, helping the customer win more high-value contracts and positioning them as a preferred local processor for demanding OEMs.
